About Jimz Fix-It Shop

Jimz Fix-It Shop in Florida evolved from KMR Technical Services in Chicagoland (1999-2007) which evolved from a 1980's Florida company called Computer Consulting & Repair.

Jimz humble beginnings originates back to 1962 when the 9 year old Jim Kocmoud was photographed sitting at a workbench in his parents basement with a sign affixed to the front of the bench advertising Jims Fix-It Shop. During the years since, he has owned and operated several service companies including Mobile Mechanic in the 70s and 80s, Gulfbreeze Service Center (Englewood, FL) in the 80s, then KMR Tech Services (1990-2007) in Berwyn & Westchester (Chicago) IL. In 2007 Jim sold KMR and relocated to east-coast Florida where he opened up Jimz Fix-It Shop, catering to local residents in repair of TV’s, stereo, appliances, with the motto “If you plug it in, we fix it”.

Retirement has never been in his agenda, and with the closing of the flagship KMR Tech Services (late 2010) in Chicagoland, Jim has once again begun servicing the industrial monitors that he is nationally famous for. He participates on several national technical forums, and offers technical expertise to many repair shops around the country.
